Shahryar Oveissi is co-founder and managing partner of OC Global Partners, LLC, an advisory firm specializing in capital placement & business development services primarily in the Middle East, China, & North American Markets. Mr. Oveissi currently serves on the boards of Six Senses Resorts & Spa, Gyro HSR, Creative Realities, Inc. and ZeroBase Energy. In addition, Mr. Oveissi is a Trustee of The Greenwich Country Day School as well as on the Junior Board of The Greenwich YMCA. Mr. Oveissi graduated from New York University Stern School of Business with a degree in International Business and Information Systems. Shahryar is also very active in assisting charities focused on women and children in third world countries. Specifically, Shahryar is a key advisor to The Polyphony Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to bridge the divide between Arab and Jewish communities in Israel by creating a common ground where young people come together around classical music. Shahryar is also a GCDS Alumni from the class of 1995.
Mais Hriesh grew up in Nazareth. She began playing the flute at age 13 with Avichai Ornoy at the Barenboim-Said Conservatory in Nazareth. Although being part of an orchestra and playing the flute was a rare hobby in Nazareth, Mais’ mother encouraged her to pursue her passion. After three years she started studying with Roy Amotz. She is an active chamber music player, orchestra player as well a soloist. Mais has played with prestigious orchestras all over the world and studied under various renowned musicians. In 2012 she joined Polyphony, in which she plays with other musicians from various Middle Eastern countries to promote peaceful relations through the beauty of music. She currently attends Bard College where she is studying music and human rights.
